Thanksgiving

05-12-2024

Our school community came together to celebrate our first-ever Thanksgiving, and it was truly a day to remember!

With the help of two of our newest staff members, Emily and Diana, who brought their American roots and traditions to life, students across EYFS and Primary engaged in meaningful activities that highlighted gratitude, empathy, and cultural understanding.

The day began with a special assembly featuring a heartwarming story shared by Sonia, Lucian, and Gios’ mum. She recounted her experience collaborating on a Thanksgiving meal for 60 people at a local immigrant centre, embodying the spirit of empathy that lies at the heart of the holiday and our school.

EYFS students then got active in a lively and fun-filled Turkey Trot, embracing the festive energy of the season.

Later in the day, American and Canadian parents joined us to share what Thanksgiving means to their families, offering personal insights into the traditions and values of the holiday. They also rolled up their sleeves to support students with a variety of Thanksgiving-themed craft activities in the classrooms.
