On 26 March, The British School of Málaga proudly hosted TEDxThe British School of Málaga Youth at Cine Yelmo, bringing together imagination, creativity and the courage to rethink the future under the theme “The Shape of Possibility.”As organisers of the event, we welcomed an enthusiastic audience of students, families, teachers, local authorities and members of the wider educational community to listen to 15 inspiring speakers aged 12 to 17, representing 15 ISP Schools across the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), from our Secondary and Sixth Form stages, who took to the stage to share their ideas on how to shape the future. Our student, Christian M., represented The British School of Málaga as one of the speakers, sharing:"Participating in TEDx has been a new experience for me that has taken me out of my comfort zone. However, it’s been fun, and I have learned a lot. Meeting new people and sharing our ideas has taught me how to work with others and communicate better. I have learnt that words can change our futures and inspire many."Their talks explored themes such as curiosity, embracing imperfection, overcoming fear of failure, and the power of imagination, kindness and education in opening new opportunities and transforming the way we see the world. At The British School of Málaga, we are committed to providing experiences that empower students to develop confidence, communication skills and a global mindset, offering meaningful opportunities to share their voice on an international stage. Our Headteacher, Stefan Rumistrzewicz, highlighted:“The chosen theme perfectly reflects what we believe as a school: that every student has the potential to shape their own future.”TEDxThe British School of Málaga Youth was a celebration of student voice, creativity and the transformative power of education. The talks will soon be available on the TEDx YouTube channel.
