The new Primary building at BSM has opened its doors!

On the 27th May we opened the doors to the new Primary building at BSM. The plans for the new construction were announced in 2021 and the opening of the building was a highly anticipated event.

The school community is delighted as it adds 3700 square metres to the school campus to develop school academic life and the children have been able to try everything out before breaking up for the summer holidays.

The new Primary building has capacity for 600 students and includes an indoor sports hall, a large bright space with retractable seating and multi-purpose sports area. The sports hall, which can accommodate over 300 people, adds to the outdoor sports facilities which the school already has.

Primary students will be able to enjoy a brand new play area next to the building, which is covered with artificial grass and includes an outdoor play park.

The building is distributed over 4 and a half floors. The three top floors are home to 24 classrooms as well as specialised classrooms for Music, English and ALN support.
The sports hall is on the ground floor, and the mezzanine houses an impressive staff room. The design, which was produce d by the Domingo Corpas architecture studio, makes the most of outdoor space as the building also has 2 covered outside areas and a roof terrace which is surrounded by views of the green countryside of Cerrado de Calderón.

The new construction not only increases the campus size of The British School of Málaga, but also transforms it into a school with specialised buildings for each academic stage so Foundation, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form each have their own exclusive areas.
